you can try to different universities/colleges for your M.Tech or you can write GATE exam again
in next year.if you will write and qualified GATE exam with good percentile then it will save
your 'year gap' problem.

To get good college in MTech either (1) qualify GATE with good score or (2) get a sponsorship and apply to college.
