The basic difference between both is that Advertising is a paid form of promotion and communication where an organisation will pay to promote their message to the public regarding their product or service. Whereas Public Relations (PR) works to manage a company's reputation through media coverage, building relationships with stakeholders, and influencing audiences' perceptions.
Advertising tactics include commercials, print ads, banners, online sponsored posts, etc. PR tactics include press releases, media interviews, events, press conferences, etc.
