Ph.D. in Germany is a 3-5 year programme offered with no tuition fees at most of the public universities. The programs are offered in mainly English but some also require German proficiency. Ph.D. in Germany is a doctorate research degree that is offered in various disciplines and it can be completed in two ways: Individual Ph.D. Degree & Structured Ph.D. Degree Cost: Tuition Fees for Ph.D. in Germany Public institutions in Germany usually do not charge specific tuition fees. In case, you are unable to finish your Ph.D. in time, you will be then required to pay a semester fee. The charges vary from university to university in this case. Scholarship: Government Funded Scholarships in Germany 1)DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) Scholarships Eligibility: Students of all nationalities are eligible for these scholarships and are selected based on their academic proficiency. 2)ERASMUS+ (European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) scholarships Erasmus+ scholarships are one of the beast and the largest grants to study in Europe. The complete ERASMUS+ scholarship programme is regulated by the European Commission. More than 4,000 higher education institutions from nearly 37 countries participate as Erasmus + Partner countries. Eligibility: Students of all nationalities pursuing Erasmus study programme are eligible for these grants and they are selected based on their academic proficiency. Non-Government Scholarships in Germany 1)Heinrich Bll Scholarships for International Students Eligibility: Both German and international students planning to study Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. programs in Germany are eligible for Heinrich Bll Scholarships. The applications for this scholarship are opened twice a year (March and September). 2) Humboldt Research Fellowships for Postdoctoral Researchers Eligibility: The fellowship is open to researchers and students from all nationalities for the Postdoctoral programme. Around 400 500 research fellowships are granted every year. Scholarship Duration and Amount: The fellowship worth 2,650 per month is granted for duration.
