How are students selected to advanced ? is it based on jee main marks or based on the all india rank?

first you have to gain minimum cut off marks given by Jee than if you r not in top 1.5 lacs AIR than your paper will be cancelled. I have got 50 marks in Jee mains last year but my AIR was 37K but was not eligible for advanced. I hope you have got that

You have said that it is based on AIR.then answer me this .even though i secure 89 marks in mains if my percentile is good say 95 or 96 .i could get an AIR of 30K-40K.what do you say for this.will i get selected?kindly let me know the correct on. thanks for your response
