NIT, Tiruchirappalli has a reputation for having the best chemical department in all of the NIT present in India. That being said, I would like to suggest you that you should only take up chemical engineering if you are passionate about the field and not considering the placement as a factor of you

In 2015, The percentage of students placed was 95 percent. For the Chemical department, it was 95 percent in 2016 and a whopping record of 100 percent in 2017. Chemical engineering branch is a branch which has not firmly made it grasp in India. If you have an interest or if you like chemical engineering branch then only you should go for it otherwise it would be very difficult for you to get a job or get placed in core companies.
