How are the placements in LPU for Civil Engineering dept. ?

A civil engineer helps design and create buildings, infrastructure and other large-scale structural projects. Mechanical and civil engineering are very popular yet unique engineering fields. I have done engineering from LPU and I have a lot of friends from the civil branch and they all are placed in good sectors with great packages. Students are placed in companies like Cleanmax Solar, Al Rakha (UAE), Dharam Consulting, Era Infra Engineering Ltd. , KEC International, Simplex, WSP India, XL Dynamics, CVENT, Rishishwar Construction, Premier Developers and Contractors, etc. In Civil Engineering LPU emphasizes the evolution of manmade infrastructure as LPU understands how they have evolved to the present scenario. With the advancement of technology in leaps and bounds, the future of civil engineering in the years to come will be crucial, especially with the establishment of smart cities. LPU is nurturing our students to adapt and be equipped with this ever-changing scenario. To cater to these needs the department is structured into five vibrant centers of studies: Structural. Hydraulics. Environment. Geotechnica. Transportation. As per my friend's experiences, those are graduated in civil from LPU. LPU is Imparting knowledge through site visits, case studies, real-time designs of structures. It has well-equipped lab facilities like concrete testing, cement testing, soil testing, surveying, highway material testing, and structural mechanics. They are Teaching through PPTs, videos, images, and animations. Manual, as well as computerized structural designing skills with CAD and soft-wares like STAAD Pro, MX Road, are provided to the students. Expertise knowledge of planning in construction is provided to the student both manually as well as software MS Project.

Lovely Professional University is one of the best institutes for engineering in the state of Punjab. So if a degree in B.Tech (Civil engineering) is what you seek, I suggest that you do consider LPU. Hi Since the beginning of the creation, when someone placed a roof over his head or laid a tree trunk across a river to cross it, Civil Engineering existed. LPU has its student organisation known as "bridge, " which conducts various events and competitions to bring forth creativity and to award the best engineer in the making. The consortium of former LPU alumni and an active group of engineering professionals with a sound civil background share their experience on various technologies, industries, methodologies, and processes adapted by many MNC. Moreover, Intellectual Industry officials regularly visit the school to guide faculty members and students themselves. Workshops are being arranged for enhancing student knowledge. School of Civil Engineering, Lovely Professional University, has signed MOU with NHAI for giving paid internship opportunities to our existing Civil Engineering students. Learning by Doing, in which fresher students of the school of civil engineering prepared the building models under the guidance of faculty. The placements are excellent. Being an alumni of LPU I believe that I can answer queries properly. LPU is one of the finest universities in India. The dept. Of Civil Engineering offers very dynamic study content. It not only focuses on teaching concepts of civil engineering but also lays stress on the practical application of the principles and theories. Being more interested in structural engineering I personally found the content of courses like, Design of Structures, Bridge design, Fluid mechanics designed in such an interesting way that you hardly find any other university working on syllabus enhancement to such an extent as LPU does. The dept. Of civil engineering has all the required labs with up-to-date machinery and modern equipment. They also have an NABL-accredited lab for mechanical testing of building materials which makes LPU the only private university in India and the first university in Punjab to receive this accreditation. Their curriculum for civil engineering is revised every year by leading professionals in the field of the construction industry and the students represent LPU at various national and international level competitions for civil engineering. Their placements are also at par with the demand in the industry. Many construction giants like Linkhouse Buildwell, KEC international, L&T have been vising LPU for placements. They have labs maintained by Bentley which provides training for the latest software which are in demand by the industry. They also teach practical applications of the latest software like Staad Pro v8i, E-tabs, MS Project, Primavera, Auto Cad, Sewer Gems, Plaxis etc. And one more thing to mention, with over 35k students studying in campus, you can also collaborate with your friends from different disciplines and work on projects. Hello Virat, Well, there are a few good universities in India for Civil Engineering. I can give you the answer to this question based on the feedback received from students who are known to me and are currently studying Civil Engineering at LPU. Besides, few colleagues of mine who have previously worked in the same Dept. So, following are the highlights of Civil Engg in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of the B.Tech program in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship program that could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can see actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives. 6. They have very good placement records and good infrastructure companies visit their campus, L & T, Simplex Piles Ltd, Era Infrastructure, Gammon India Ltd to name a few. 7. Career-oriented Software training in project labs is given. To work in this profession, you are supposed to be familiar with software like MS-Project, STAAD Pro, MX Road, etc. Nonetheless, you will be trained in Auto CAD in your second year which is a prerequisite for any Civil Engineer. 8. Every theory course is complemented with relevant lab-based practical work. Some of the labs are based on field testing where experimental work is to be done, e.g. Soil Lab & Surveying Lab. I hope that helps you to make a wiser decision. Rest lies on you. But, yes, four years is enough time to groom your personality.
