I SEE these placement related queries everyday. Most students perceive placements as a standalone function. Not realizing that there is much more to it both from side of student as well as the programme curators. In this fast changing environment, the needs of employers also change fast and so do the skill-sets required. The curators of any education programme must take this into consideration. A few factors from side of Curators are: Curriculum development as per industry feedback and consultations. Teaching pedagogy, the more practical it is better for the students. Technology trainings, the curators must keep the relevant cutting edge technologies like SAP, Github etc. As a part of curriculum. Live projects: The practical exposure is need of the hour. The internships, consultancies etc. Must be part of the programs. Entrepreneurship and community projects: many students aspire to become businessmen and even if not, they must be exposed to entrepreneurship projects so as to learn taking the ownership of project/process etc. Similarly community projects develop the humane side and organizing skills of the person. Equipment/machinery/software and other infrastructure must be available to students for practicing the real time situations Soft skills and personality, these days the soft skills play an important part in professional life, programme curators must ensure that students are exposed to these for a good duration in right environment. Best quality faculty, which can deliver the programme in the right pedagogy in letter and spirit. They must not only be qualified but innovative and well connected to industry needs too. Industry interface and network: The students must be exposed to industry people, factories and interactions must happen frequently so that students SEE the real life scenarios and start networking with industry. From students side, sincerity, initiative and hard work is required. In my 16 years of experience as an educator I have not seen any College/university as focused as LPU in organizing every factor discussed earlier and coming out successful in placements in such large numbers. Attracting more than 7000 companies which conduct over 900 placement drives is proof enough of the massive scale of operations at LPU. DVD.

I am an alumni of LPU and I have seen the actual reality in the LPU. First of all, LPU has earned many affiliations, recognition and accreditation and mark itself among the few of the top private universities. Moreover the placement opportunities in LPU are much better than other private universities as it is ranked the 5th amongst the other universities for its placement records. More than 550 companies visit every year for such activities and campus-recruitment of students from LPU and this year for batch graduating in 2020, already more than 500 placement/internship drives have been conducted till January 2020 with leading industry giants (more than 90% being MNCs) such as Amazon, Tech Mahindra, ITC, Trident Group, Cognizant Technology Solutions etc. And generating more than 3000 offers just in the first half of the academic session.

This must be taken into account by the curators of every instructional curriculum. I SEE these placement-related questions every day. Most students SEE placements as a standalone feature. Not recognising that there is much more to it and from the student perspective and the designers of the curriculum. There are a few considerations on the part of the curators: 1. Curriculum layout as per business reviews and consultation. 2. Teaching pedagogy, the more realistic it is for pupils. 3. Technology preparation, curators must retain the related cutting-edge innovations such as SAP, Github, etc. It's part of the programme. 4. Live projects: the realistic visibility of the hour is required. Practices, consulting, etc. It needs to be part of the services. 5. Entrepreneurship and group ventures 6. Equipment / Machinery / Software and other resources must be accessible to students in real-time scenarios. All such factors should also be considered by an aspirant. And just to inform you LPU is very much focused and dedicated for the placement of the students. 650+ companies visit LPU for hiring students from every programme. Students are offered packages like 42 lacs per annum. In my 13 years of experience as an educator, I haven't seen any college / university as centred as LPU on coordinating any of the reasons mentioned above and making placements in such large numbers a success.
