How are the placements of B.Tech in aerospace engineering in SASTRA University?

SASTRA University conducts the admission in two streams. In the stream 1, 70% of seats are allotted based on the candidates’ JEE (Main) scores and 10+2 marks. The remaining 30% seats are allotted based on 10+2 or equivalent marks scored by the candidates, after that the counselling process. Courses offered by SASTRA University: Aerospace Engineering Bio-Engineering Biotechnology Civil Engineering Chemical Engineering Computer science and engineering, etc. Placements are also good. 80% placements are there in Sastra University, whenever students leave the college they have a good job, they have been recruited for top MNCs in India and abroad. SASTRA University arranges the interview for particular companies Paypal, Google, Microsoft, Zoho, Freshdesk and other various companies. Placement cell does a very good job and almost all the students get place. The average package is 3.18 LPA. The main companies hiring our students are TCS, Wipro and Accenture. The highest package goes up to INR 14-15 LPA. Companies like EBay, Amazon and some Chennai based companies hire students with nice package. There is a training and placement department which trains everyone after 6th semester. It boosts up confidence in every one to get placed in a good company. Many companies visit our university in 7th semester whereas some visit even in 6th semester.

SASTRA University is located in Thanjavur and it is accredited by NAAC. It is ranked 65 in the list of top colleges of India by 'the week'. It offers many courses out of which aerospace engineering is the course in which it offers about 126 to the students. It is well known for its good infrastructure knowledgeable faculty with experience of teaching and many facilities like Wi-Fi Sports Complex and labs with better equipments and machines. According to the reviews of the students Sastra University placement of B.Tech students in aerospace engineering are not very good. According to the students about 20 to 25% students get placed in the core companies and rest of the students gets placed in the non core companies which are mass recruiter like TCS,Accenture, etc. You have to study hard to be in that 20 to 25% students and to get good placements in core companies. About 80% students of aerospace engineering are placed in Core companies or in non core companies. Average salary provided to the students of aerospace engineering is about 3 lakh per annum. Highest salary provided to the students of aerospace engineering is about 11 lakh per annum. Hope it helps.

Sastra University is one of the good college having NIRF rank 25 est. in 1984 Total Course Fee:- 4.57Lakh Admission through JEE Mains Aerospace Engineering branch is one among the newly established branches in SASTRA. The opportunities for aerospace engineering are very limited in India and so is the reason why this is very narrow in our country. If you only want to get into a core aerospace engineering company, you have to get admission at Indian Institute of Science for your Masters programme, it is the only institute worthy of pursuing aerospace engineering at. Regarding Sastra University, the aerospace programme started in the previous year and no batch has passed until now or will pass in the coming 2 years from now. So, it is nearly impossible to predict placements for aerospace engineering branches but at the same time, one can expect that the majority of the students of the batch are going to land up in one or the other IT companies, marketing firms, or BPOs, with an average placement of around 3.5-4 lacs. Also, you can consider taking up Masters from the same college, if you want to increase your chances of getting into an aerospace company. I hope this answer helps you.

SASTRA University is a private university and renowned for its consistent performance for many years. It stands among the top rankings colleges in NIRF, but according to me, the rankings are not enough to get a person a good package especially in the field such as aerospace which is still finding its scope in India at a large corporate level. Following the culture, SASTRA University offers the most and highest package for the core branches that are CSE, EC and IT. For the students of the aerospace branch, it is very difficult to get a quality placement in their stream of interest. Most of the aerospace students get indulged in the higher studies abroad or in some renowned institutions of the country. As aerospace requires a lot of hard work and a thorough knowledge of the application. In SASTRA University, these trends are less seen and thus the required placement stats are not met. Though, the average placements are around 4 LPA for undergraduates and have witnessed with a couple of sudden promotions in the company but completely based on the handwork. Hope it helps.

Hello, SASTRA University (Shanmuga Arts, Science, Technology, and Research Academy) is located at Thanjavur. It is a good university which is gaining more reputation these days. It may be due its fee structure which is more affordable than the other private colleges. It has been ranked at 25 by NIRF India among the accredited engineering colleges in India. It is also ranked among the QS ranking which is offered for the colleges with international recognition and standards. Aerospace engineering is generally a good branch of engineering which has more scope in terms of exploration and research. Aerospace is a newly introduced course at SASTRA so that it is slowly gaining reputation and improving in terms of placements. The grads are also eligible to place in IT sectors which is predominant at SASTRA. Some companies do visit the campus for aerospace like Indian airlines, jet airways, aeronautical development agency etc. In future, it is expected to attract many companies. All the best!
