How are the placements of B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering from Karunya University?

India being agrarian country, the demand for Agri-professionals is not going down anytime soon. Lots of Government as well as Private job opportunities are present for fresh graduates. Karunya University is one of the best colleges of Coimbatore. Best private colleges of Coimbatore and has its own syllabus and curriculum. It has many courses to offer out of which Agricultural Engineering has about 120 seats to offer to the students interested. It is well known for its good infrastructure faculties and facilities provided by them like Wi-Fi and sports complex. The placement of agriculture engineering from Karunya University is just about average. Not many core companies comes for the placement of Agricultural engineering students and most of the student remain unplaced in the placement. Companies that come to Karunya University for agriculture engineering are as follows Capgemini | HCL | IBM | Indian Navy | Infosys | TCS |Godrej Agrovet Limited | Advanta Limited Above companies are not the core companies but they are non-core companies like TCS,etc. that recruit students in mass. The core companies that comes to the campus for placement provides average package of about 7-8 lakh per annum to the students of agriculture Engineering. Average package offered by Karunya University to agriculture engineering students is about 2 to 3 lakh per annum. Hope it helps.

Hi, First of all I shall tell you that the placements for agricultural engineering at Karunya University are lesser than what you can think of: To my surprise they had no campus placements for agricultural engineering branch. You can log on to the link given below for the validity of the above mentioned fact: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.karunya.edu/placement/9placed17.html" style='word-wrap:break-word;'>http://www.karunya.edu/placement/9placed17.html</a> Now I shall let you know the pros and cons of placements at Karunya University: Pros: It manages to attract a large number of IT companies. Cons: You completely have to rely on the off campus placement for the agricultural branch itself. The total batch placement for agricultural branch (in campus) is 2-3%. It is impossible now to predict the average placements for branch, considering the poor placements of the college. Hence, I would draw a conclusion that you should not pursue agricultural engineering from this college if and only if placement is what you are looking for. If passion is what is motivating you to take the branch, go for it.
