How are the placements of B.Tech in automobile engineering from DTU, Delhi?

Well Delhi Technology University DTU is one of the renowned institutes in the country and offers various courses in engineering with top class facility and faculty with great industry collaboration and placement over the past had made the institute a great. For the aspiring candidate to become leaders in their respective field. If you talk about automobile industry it is rapidly growing in the country with mass production in the vehicle and latest technology coming up. Companies like Tata, Maruti, Mahindra, Nissan, Toyota, Honda are top vehicle manufacturing company in terms of production. So if you are machine lover then you can easily make your career but only after hands-on experience in the field of your choice because the start is slow but experience pays off the rest. The minimum salary is about Rs 4 lakh per annum and the highest salary is about Rs 8 lakh. Don't worry about the package initially just focus on the brand, profile then at last salary. Good luck!!

Delhi Technological University is one of the best engineering colleges of India. It ranks in top 10 engineering colleges of India. It is very well known for its great infrastructure, faculties with the knowledge and experience in teaching as well as facilities provided by them are very good like Labs, Sports Complex, canteen, Wi-Fi, etc. There are many courses offered by Delhi Technological University out of which automobile engineering is one of the course in which it or it offers about 146 to the students. Delhi Technological University encourages which automobile engineering students to take part in competitions while making their own cars or machines by having the great ideas. It also provides them with interactive sessions with major automobile companies. Average package offered by the companies like Hyundai, Toyota, Tata, Mahindra, Royal Enfield, Honda, etc. is about 7-8 lakhs per annum. Highest package offered by BMW is about 45 lakh per annum to the student of automobile engineering.

Hi, Well, I am from the mechanical branch (DTU) but I can relate to this question in a much better way and will try to give you more insights. To be honest, this branch is not doing much good at DTU. Talking about the placements, it is not very good. DTU MAM is a new branch, (say) subpart of mechanical engineering. Placements are similar to that of mechanical, though it has not yet gained such respect. Though, it is having a similar kind of placement like the core mechanical stream and similar course outline with that of mechanical. But still, there are a few companies which will not allow an MAM student to sit with mechanical students for placements. So, competition is very very tough. About 250 students of mechanical compete with just 100 students of automotive. Most of the PSUs don't value the degree of MAE as mechanical despite it being mechanical and automotive engineering. So you may not get a job in PSUs through it. Also, this branch is not a core branch so you are not eligible to appear for GATE exam. Well talking about placement, only a few students of this branch get placed. The average package is about 4-6 LPA (40-50% students are able to get this). The highest package was about 28 LPA offered to AE student. So, my advice would be to go for this branch if you have an interest in automobiles and is not so much concerned about the placements. Otherwise, go with mechanical. I hope this helps you.

Hey there, DTU is one of the reputed engineering colleges in India. Every year lakhs of students try getting admission here. According to the National Institute Ranking Framework, Delhi Technological University was ranked 39th in India and around 3rd in Delhi. DTU is well known among recruiters and provides decent placements to its students. Last time total 47 offers were made in total for Automobile students. The exact placement stats aren't released by DTU publicly. The average package is around 6-7 LPA for the automobile branch. Companies like Tata Motors, Mahindra, Honda, JP Morgan Chase and Morgan Stanley are regular recruiters at DTU. Hi, Initially when the branch was just automobile engineering,students did face difficulties while sitting for companies but renaming of the branch has to an extent made it possible for automotive students to compete with mechanical students The average is again between 58 L.P.A(roughly)[This is the case for a core company pretty much anywhere in any premium college] Most of the companies coming for Non Technical Profiles(like business analysts,supply chain management etc.) are also open for this branch and they offer packages in the range of 810 L.P.A[Includes top notch consultancies like Bain,Deloitte etc.] But the good thing is the placements have been been increasing from year to year and the Training and Placement Center has also been working hard to ensure that.The TnP department is one of the best departments in the college. People from this branch have also been placed with really good packages but I feel that India needs to move beyond the idea of equating success, or happiness, with someone's salary. If you want to know more about placements I think the TnP will be the appropriate place to contact. About future studies I suggest that students dont make this decision right after entering college but give it some time(say 1-2 years).Your will have common subjects in first year so you wont really discover anything about your branch. Second year should give you more of an idea as to whether you want to continue in the same line or not. All the best.

Hi The placement of automobile engineering in DTU was not doing much good. But still, don't loose your confidence. If you are interested in doing B.Tech from DTU then you can obviously do it as it is developing eventually. Previously, it was not doing well but now it is developing its bounds and emerging to be good. But now it is doing well. I think the Delhi College has automotive engineering and its campus placement of graduating students of erstwhile DTU has always been very high. A large number of leading industries and organizations visit the campus each year for campus placement. The batch graduating in 2010, has received 660 offers from 125 companies which visited DTU campus during the year. The highest overseas salary offered this year is Rs. 14.0 lakhs and highest domestic salary is Rs. 11 lakhs p.a. while the average salary has gone up to Rs. 5.5 lakhs p.a. The companies which visited DTU this year include Microsoft, Mckinsey, IBM, TCS, Computer Science Corporation (CSC), Agilent, Maruti, Tata Motors, Samsung, BHEL, NTPC, and Defence Research and Development Organization, L&D, Nestle, Sapient Texas, Instruments Smart Cubes, Z S Associates, etc. The graduates have also received excellent higher educational opportunities in world class universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon. DCE as DTU shall surpass the benchmark of its past achievements now that it has the freedom to excel. DTU is now having the opportunity to offer world quality curriculum and research and innovations. Infrastructure is at par with the best technological universities. It shall surpass its own bench mark of graduate quality and their placements in world renowned corporate and industry. The placements have been good enough for the year of 2016, a lot of core companies visiting and recruiting from our campus this year. Some of them are: LnT Bajaj Auto Maruti Suzuki Bechtel General Motors TATA Motors Escorts OTIS UTC Carriers Honda etc etc The list is fairly long (more than 25 atleast) and a large number of students have been placed till now. The average package offered is somewhere between 5 - 5.5 LPA. All the best for your future.
