Considering the placement report of 2017 for IIT, Guwahati in biotechnology branch, out of the 38 students that enrolled for placements, 27 got placed. But these placements were mostly for data analytics, banking, marketing and other such companies due to the lack of core biotechnology companies visiting the campus.
