How are the placements of B.Tech in Biotechnology from SASTRA University?

SASTRA University is located in Thanjavur and it is accredited by NAAC. It is ranked 65 in the list of top colleges of India by 'the week'. It offers many courses out of which Biotechnology is the course in which it offers about 60 seats to students. It is well known for its good infrastructure knowledgeable faculty with experience of teaching and many facilities like Wi-Fi Sports Complex and labs with better equipments and machines. Sastra University is known for its research in biotechnology but it cannot be compared to IIT or NIT research. But somehow it manages to be in top 3 rank in terms of research in biotechnology. Department of biotechnology in Sastra University has well equipped machines and equipments in the Labs. And many of the students do research in these Labs Few of the core companies that come up during placements season are Dr. Reddy's lab and Nestle, which offers moderate to high packages but with very less intake of students. About 10% students of biotechnology gets place in the core companies and get salary about 7 lakh per annum. Where is rest of the students are placed into mass recruiter IT companies like TCS, Accenture,etc. With the average salary of 3 lakh per annum. Hope it helps.
