Sharda University - The world is here, the tagline perfectly matches with the environment of the university. It is spread over 63 acres in Greater Noida which is near to the capital of India. Students in Sharda come from different cultures and backgrounds. Sharda University has well qualified and experienced faculties across different universities of India. Talking about the faculties most of them are having Ph.D degree and Master's degree and are very friendly and ready to help to solve queries. Sharda University has adopted the same curriculum as that of IITs and hence if you try preparing for an exam like GATE in future, it will really be helpful due to coursework. B.Tech in biotech at Sharda University has a ratio of 60 (girls):40 (boys). If you want to pursue biotechnology from Sharda then you must be aware that this field is still developing in India. Therefore, the number of job openings and pay packages are both very low when compared with IT and CS fields. Even in Sharda University, very few companies visit to recruit students from biotech. Only 3-4 companies visit. The number of students that placed from Sharda every year in biotech is also very less. Only 25-30 students out of 100 have that caliber to crack the interview and successfully grab a job for them.Therefore, percent of students from biotech batch placed every year is about 30%. Some companies that visit Sharda are Cipla, Sun Pharma, RRD, Genpact, Bharat serum. These companies offer very less pay package. But the package will increase after you will become a permanent employee in that company. Well, salary offered to biotech students of Sharda is very low. The average salary is about 1.5-2.5 LPA. I would say Lovely Professional University is best for pursuing B.Tech in Biotechnology. If you re looking for quality education, good placements, exposure, academics then LPU is right place, it has all. I am saying this because one of my known is pursuing same course from LPU and her experience is amazing. She told me Faculty members works hard tirelessly in enabling students with the acumen to apply the findings of Bio sciences in the fields of medicine, forensics, nutrition and dietetics for the benefit of the community. LPU School of Bioengineering and Biosciences is equipped with state-of-the-art Bioprocess Engineering and Bioscience labs and believes in imparting knowledge to students through a practical approach to achieve mastery in plant and animal physiology. Few points told by my known who did her studies from LPU that will help you to make your decision: The course offers specializations in Dairy Technology, Fermentation Technology and Bioinformatics.
