How are the placements of B.Tech in Biotechnology from TNAU?

As per my analysis, due to recent advancement in the field of Bio-Technology, the Molecular Biology and genetic engineering domain promises to create a research oriented and placement oriented environment. I may not be able to clarify the offerings of other Universities, but being gratified alumni of Lovely Professional University, I managed to fetch some of the unique highlights of School of Bio-Technology & Bio-Sciences, LPU. It would be worthwhile to share with you to get the clear picture regarding the offerings of LPU in this domain. In LPU the Bio-Tech. Department is regularly works on student research projects with novel ideas of applied value. The highlights include: Faculty: Highly experienced faculty, academically excellent in terms of their educational background, research and teaching. Fields of study: Genetic engineering, Molecular Biology cell Biology Molecular Diagnostics, Cloning (Reproductive and Therapeutic cloning) Thrust Areas of research: Plant Functional Genomics, Molecular Marker studies, Taxonomy and Phylogenetic analysis Unique features: Research projects in collaboration with national laboratories of India (NIPGR, New Delhi; CPRI, Shimla; NRCE, Hisar; IIWBR, Karnal; NIEBE, Kpurthala), Live projects for undergraduate students. Innovative Pedagogy: Academic tasks such Class Participation, Design Problem, Term Paper, Assignment, Live examples, AV-aids. Test and Quiz based on various competitive examinations. Case studies on Current research scenario. Placements are not that great and the package is also low. The best way would be to acquire a Masters degree from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. The alumni network is quite wide and strong since its a century old college. The highest package was 5 LPA and the average was 2 LPA, which is minimal, overall placements ratio varies and has not been audited branch wise. They conduct off campus job fairs where all students are placed together in all roles. A job fair is conducted in March / April coinciding with the closure of academic programmes. Job seekers are introduced to a plethora of industries. Placement officers meet of constituent colleges is held once in a year for further development of placement and higher education.
