How are the placements of B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology?

Hey there, The placement scenario varies from year to year especially in chemical engineering of Haldia Institute of Technology. In 2017, various core companies recruited students from HIT like Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd., Adani Wilmar, Topchem Cement, Praxair, Wacker, S.G Biogas, IR Chemicals, Oriental Nicco, Chemtex, Voith Paper, Sanmar, and Almal. Many IT companies mass recruited chemical engineers like Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, etc. Some chemical engineers from Haldia Institute of Technology got a chance to get placed in sales companies like Berger, Amazon, but these two companies recruited students through off campus placements. Off campus placement opportunities are also there but you need to have the patience to get through with them as most of them are willing to recruit after you have completed your final semester. Some faculty members help students appear for an interview through their industry sources off campus. Well, talking about the placement stats, only 20% of batch get placed in core companies, the rest of the batch was placed in IT companies that are mentioned above and some decided to opt for higher studies. The average salary package offered by core companies was 3.5-.5.5 LPA and the salary offered by IT companies was 3-3.2 LPA.
