    Chemical Engineering is very good and is among the core branch of Engineering. IIT Madras is at the top among all the IITs.
    Talking about the placements of Chemical Engineering at IIT Madras is, almost 100% ratio is seen every year.
    The average package of Chemical Engineering at IIT Madras is around Rs 9 to Rs 11 lakhs per annum .

    IIT Madras is one of the well reputed institutions in India and one of the old iits. So it attracts lots of good companies for placements and the statistics are pretty good as such.
    For 2016 for Chemical engineering 49 students registered for placements out of which 39 were placed (BE). The percentage of students placed was 91.30 percent as such.
    The packages offered for Chemical Engineering students were in the range between Rs 4.5 LPA to 17.6 LPA. The average package was between Rs 6 - 7 LPA (approx) . Many students also opted for roles in Management, Finance and Consulting. If you see the placement report you will find many banks inc

    IIT Madras has been the favorite destination for the many reputed firms. Every year more than 200 companies visit the campus for campus recruitment.
    Placement in chemical engineering is pretty good.Highest package offered last year was 34 lakhs per annum lowest was 6 lakhs per annum. Average package was 9.6 lakhs per annum. List of the companies (along with the post) visited for campus recruitment last year (only for chemical engineering):

For postgraduate courses such as MTech, students can join IIT Madras by appearing for the GATE, COAP, and various other entrance exams. For MBA courses, CAT is the acceptable entrance exam. For the PhD, CAT, and GATE are all accepted by the college.

For IIT Madras summer internships, a candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Working Professionals are not eligible to apply for internships
  • Students must pursue the IITM BSc Degree without other commitments (on-campus degree or full-time job)
  • Students will have to fulfill training requirements before they apply for internships.
  • Students should have completed 4 courses + 2 course projects at the Diploma level.
  • Students will be allowed to apply once they complete at least one Diploma course.
  • Non-refundable Registration fees of INR 1,800 (incl GST) must be submitted
