How are the placements of B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Institute of Technology, Nirma University?

Institute of Technology Nirma University is located in Ahmedabad. Also, it is one of the best private colleges in Gujarat and is rank 74 in top colleges of India. It has many courses to offer out of which there is chemical engineering and provides about 120 seats for the same. It is the college which is known for its great infrastructure in whole Gujarat and better facilities provided by the colleges like Wi-Fi Sports Complex, etc. Nirma University is the college that focuses mainly on studies, therefore, you don't need to worry about the faculties and it also has the rule of 85% compulsory attendance. Placement is good for chemical engineering students. You will get decent chemical companies.You may even get placed in government chemical companies.You can get a maximum package of 5-6 lacs but not more than that. The mass package you may get is 3-4 lacs are from non-core companies like TCS or Accenture. But there is one rule which is not satisfactory that if you get one back, you aren't allowed to sit for the placements. Hope it helps.

Greetings from Shiksha. Chemical engineering is among the best engineering courses in India with a good scope in every term like training, education, placements and research. Talking about the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, it is the best engineering Institute with all the high-tech facilities and education. So, it is good to do chemical engineering from Nirma University. Other good institutes for chemical engineering are M.S. University-Baroda, PDPU-Gandhinagar and L.D. College of Engineering. Now talking about the placements of chemical engineering at Nirma University, it is very good around 70 to 80%. Big techno-giants such as L&T, Reliance, Adani, Wipro, Blue Star, TCS, Torrent, Sun Pharma, Zydus, Winjit, Cognizant, Dell, Infosys, Loginext, IQR, Samsung, Qualcomm, Aditya Birla Group, Vedanta Group Deloitte, etc. take students from here. So, it has very good placements in top-level companies. The average package is around 7 to 10 lakhs per annum.

Let me start by telling you the pros and cons of the placements at nirma university: Pros: The college has managed to attract the most number of chemical firms among all the private colleges. The training and placement cell is highly alert and responsible where they train students to get through interviews too. Some of the companies that visit the campus during the placement season are given below: Accenture India Private Limited, Adani Group,Birla [Birla Cellulosic],Amtech Electronics (India) Limited, Aqua Gel Chemical Private Limited, Argusoft India Limited, Asea Brown Boveri Limited [ABB],Asia Motors Private Limited, ATUL Limited, Bayer India Limited, Doshi ION Exchange & Chemical Industries Limited, DresserRand India Private Limited, GHCL Limited, GIFT [Gujarat International Finance Tech City Co. Ltd.],GMMCO Limited, GNFC [Gujarat Narmada Fertilizer Valley Corporation],Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Limited Nirma University has a reputation for an average placement package of 3.5 LPA and the highest placement package offered for the year 2017 is 10 LPA. Hope this helps cheers.

Most of the students get placed in the colleges or institute that come for hiring for the post of assistant professor. IT companies like Infosys, Cognizant will also allow Masters student to sit for the selection. College will give salary in range of 35 K to 45 K per month. IT company's will give around 3.3 LPA. In computer and IT branch, placements are very good. But, other branch ratio of core company is less. Mass recruit is there. So, no. of placed students is high in instrument branch last year placement is good. About 80 placed in civil and there is no placement. Electrical placement is medium and is about 50%. Mechanical and chemical has also good placement with about 70-75%. As I mentioned, Nirma is one of the best college in state and country. The best industries come for campus placement. There is a special placement cell which looks after the placement procedure and they try to get placement for all students. We have a alumni association, which organise a function on yearly basis and all ex students are invited for same. This is the best practice to get in touch with senior students and make network.
