How are the placements of B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NITC)?

    NITs are the premier engineering institutes in India. NIT Calicut is one these NITs and is pretty well known all over India. According to the National Institute ranking framework it stands at 44th rank among all the engineering colleges in India.
    For Chemical Engineering out of 70 students who enrolled for placements only 38 were placed. Minimum salary offered was 4.5 LPA while the average salary offered was 7.4 LPA. Maximum package offered was 12.5 LPA. So the placements for chemical were decent at NIT Calicut.

    Hi there,
    NITC was established in 1961 and was known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) until 2002. It is one of the NITs established by the Govt. of India for imparting high standard technical education to students from all over the country. The college is among the very few institutions in the country to host supercomputers of its own.
    The placements of chemical engineering are quite good.
    Here are some of the insights of the college.

    Average package:- 7.5 LPA
    Highest package:- 12.5 LPA

    National Institute of Technology Calicut is good Institute of Engineering.
    The placement record at National Institute of Technology, Calicut for chemical engineering is good. The placement ratio is around 60 to 70% placement.
    The average package of chemical engineering is around 5 to 7 LPA.

    NIT Cailcut is the one of the top college among all NITs. About 150 companies visit NIT Calicut to recruit talents for them. Here is the data for previous years' placement:
    In 2015 batch:

    Percentage placement:- 56%
    Total company visited:- 22
    Average Salary offered:- Rs. 6.3 Lakh per annum
    In 2016 Batch
    Total no. of student:- 70
    Total no. of placement:- 40
