How are the placements of B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology?

We have got average placements for chemical engineering department in VIT, Pune. Highest salary package was Rs 8 lakhs per annum last year (excluding IT companies). Average package is around Rs 4 to Rs 4.5 lakhs per annum. Some of the top notch companies coming for placements are NFL, Loreal, Alfa Laval, Techno force, Pernod Ricard, Praj, Emerson, Honeywell. Moreover, from this semester onwards final year students are supposed to do a semester long internship in core companies related to their respective branch. The plus point of VIT being, people are getting PPOs (pre placement offers) from the companies they are doing internship in. This solves the problem of placement of those people who don't get placed via campus interviews. Also, once you do the internship, company knows about your performance. So if you perform well in those 6 months, company would directly offer a PPO with a very good package which they may not give to the person freshly giving an interview for the respective position. Recruitments for these 6 months internships are even better (as compared to placements) for chemical engineering department with an above average stipend!
