COEP is among the best institutes for engineering in India. Perhaps it is not so impressive in terms of the placements and exposure you will get from COEP is just fairly decent. Here are some statistical insights of the college. College of Engineering is one of the best Engineering Colleges of India as well as of Maharashtra as well as of pune. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University.it ranks 21 in the list of top Engineering Colleges of India. It also provide most needed hands on experience to the students of civil engineering. It is well known for its infrastructure like British era buildings and facilities provided by the college in terms of labs with equipment and machines. Faculties in college of engineering Pune is one of the best Faculty in Maharashtra as most of the teachers have completed their PhDs. About 80% of students of civil engineering were placed but last year, out of them, only 20-30% placements were there in the core companies like L&T, etc. Few core companies and bulk companies or mass recruiter companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, etc. visited the campus in the placement drive and the package offered ranged from 4 lakhs per annum to 9 lakhs per annum for civil engineering. College of Engineering, Pune is one of the best colleges in Maharashtra after IITs and NITs. According to MHRD rankings, it stands at an impressive 24th position. From what I learned while pursuing B.Tech from NIT, Trichy is that COEP is known even to the people in Tamil Nadu which means it is known all over India. For civil engineering department, last year (2016-17) out of 60 students who applied for placements in civil department 21 students were placed meaning only 35 percent placement in civil which is not a good number.This condition is same for civil in most of the colleges. Even IITs and NITs have less placements for civil in comparison to the other branches. The lowest package offered was around Rs 3 lakhs per annum and the highest package offered was around Rs 33.8 lakhs per annum and the average package was around Rs 6.5 lakhs per annum which was across all branches. The College of Engineering-Pune is one of the oldest and well established engineering institutes in the country. The college witnesses a very excellent and yearly growing placement scenario. The average placements for the civil engineering undergrads is around 9 lakhs per annum in good companies such as Birla group , Adani Walmart , Axis Bank , Ultratech and many industrial tycoons which give them a huge amount to build their dream house . Also filed work is too important in the field of civil engineers but you can expose yourself very well if you utilize the exposure of city such as Pune. The highest placements from civil branch is around 21 lakhs last year where the whole elite batch of COEP ended up with a decent record of 14 lakhs to scholars. The stats for the placements are strictly from the campus drives but few people also apply for off campus and personal interviews in their desired companies for more precise and quality offers. So it can be another option for achieving more than others by applying a small but precious smartness.

Hi, I would like to share the placement statistics of last few years. Civil engineering department doesn't get good placements as compared to the other departments in COEP. This can be seen ahead from the numbers. In the academic year 2015-16, only 35% of the total UG students and 28.97% of the total PG students got placed. In the academic year 2013-14, 77.46% of the total UG students and 43.48% of the total PG students got placed. Latest record of the academic year 2016-17 says that only 44.82% of the total UG students (still better than last year) and 18.46% of the total PG students got placed. To be very frank, I have read the placement statistics from the COEP official website, link for which I will share at the end of this answer. I have tried my best while reading and interpreting that graph, but if at all these numbers are incorrect, I apologize. But I hope that it would be correct. Some of the top notch core companies coming for placements to COEP are L&T, SP, Mahindra EPC and IT companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, etc. You can go through the placement statistics.
