How are the placements of B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT, Varanasi?

IIT, Varanasi is among the top 6 public sector engineering colleges in India and has great reputation for its excellence in placements and faculty for all the different branches of undergraduate programs that they carry out. This question is a little more complex to answer because of the fact that you have not mentioned any of the branches for departments in particular that you want to know the status of placements for hence I would consider all branches at an overall to answer this question. The college supports best of the placements being an Indian Institute of Technology and one can be assured that he or she is in the best hands in the country. One can expect an average placement package of 7 LPA considering all the departments in the college and the total was placement percentage of around 85%. The highest placement package offered to the college was 1. 12 crore being an international offer made by a cop company. Hence I would recommend you to take up admission to the college without any doubt.

The Training & Placement Office, IIT (BHU) Varanasi facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the Institute besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up of internship and training program of students. The office liaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses etc which conduct campus interviews and select graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines. The placements in any branch or discipline are good. Some branches have more recruiters than the others but that doesn't count to be a major drawback. Overall, all students have an equal opportunity of getting placed as far as he/she is capable of getting the position. So, talking about placements in Civil engineering, one can say that they are very good. The placement season stats are shared with the students to make it transparent and the stats say it all. Civil Engineering Department, established in 1949, the department has taken up various research programs namely CSIR UGC SAP HUDCO DST and AICTE. There are a lot of recruiters in Civil Engineering. To name a few of them, they are L&T Indian Oil Hindustan Petroleum Limited Bharat Forge Coal Indian Limited Futures First Shaapirji Pallonji Engineers India Limited TATA Steel Citi Morgan Stanley. Apart from these, there are other tech companies which are open to all the branches. students can try their hand at them too. Let's have a look at the data, last year itself out of around 50 students (B.Tech) who sat for placements, 47 got the job. And this is about the on-campus placement only. Many choose off campus placement and some go for higher studies. The average package is around Rs 18 to Rs 20 lakhs and the highest goes up to Rs 40 lakhs in core civil companies.
