Civil Engineering is amongst the best course of engineering. Many opportunities of jobs are there for this Branch. NIT Rourkela is good Engineering Institute for placements. The placements at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela of Civil Engineering is good. The placement ratio is almost around 85 to 90% placement. The average package is around 5 to 7 LPA. Since civil engineering is amongst evergreen fields, the placements of this branch will increase with good amount of packages. Companies like DLF, Reliance Group and L&T are the bulk recruiters. Other than these companies, many companies like Tata Group, Shapoorj Pallonji Group, Sobha Developers Ltd., Nagarjun Construction Company, Skyline Builders, Sadbhav Engineering, Ultratech Cement, Adani Group, etc. take students from here. This all credit goes to Training and Placement Cell Department of NIT, Rourkela. So the placement ratio of NIT, Rourkela is almost 85 to 90%. Many opportunities of government jobs are there for Civil Engineers in PWD, PSUs, Railway, Airport etc.
