    National Institute of Technology-Suratkal is one of the best government colleges of India.
    It ranks 13 in the list of top engineering colleges in India.
    It provides a much-needed skill that is a hands-on experience which helps the students of civil engineering to work on equipment and make a real design in projects.
    It is known for its great infrastructure faculties with the knowledge and much-needed experience and better facilities like Wi-Fi, sports complex and labs with better equipment and machines.
    NIT-Surathkal has many courses to offer out of which civil engineering is one of the courses in which it offers 92 seats to the students.

    NITs are the premier institutes for engineering after the IITs. NIT Surathkal is one of the top NITs and is known across the India. According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework NIT Surathkal ranks 22nd among the engineering colleges in India.
    For civil engineering, last time (2016-17) out of 68 students who applied for placements from civil department 45 students were placed meaning 66.7 percent placement for civil which is an impressive number for civil department.
    For civil the minimum salary offered was Rs 3.3 lakhs per annum. The average salary was Rs 6.37 lakhs per annum and the maximum salary was Rs 11.5 lakhs per ann

    Civil engineering placement statistics in the year 2016-17 in NITK Surathkal:
    45 out of 68 eligible students got placed.
    The maximum package was 11.5 LPA and the minimum package was 3.3 LPA. The average salary that year was 6.37 LPA in core companies: L&T (Larsen & Toubro) and BPCL (Bharat petroleum corporation limited). Other companies with management, banking, finance and analytics profile also recruit. Some of them include Thorogood, ZS associates, Citi bank, Quantiphi analytics, i3 consulting, etc. But mostly civil students take up Masters or Ph.D programmes. A lot of them also get admission into universities abroad.
