How are the placements of B.Tech in Computer Engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology?

Placements of computer engineering department in VIT, Pune gets the highest placements every year. Highest salary package was Rs 30+ lakhs per annum last year. Average package is around Rs 6 to Rs 8 lakhs per annum. Some of the top notch companies coming for placements are Nvidia, Finiq, Infosys, Cognizant, Oracle, persistent systems, Wipro, Siemens, L & T, Emerson, Honeywell, etc. The plus point of VIT is, from this semester onwards final year students are supposed to do a semester long internship in core companies related to their respective branch. Plus point being, people are getting PPOs (pre placement offers) from the companies they are doing internship in. This solves the problem of placement of those people who don't get placed via campus interviews. Also, once you do the internship, company knows about your performance. So if you perform well in those 6 months, company would directly offer a PPO with a very good package which they may not give to the person freshly giving an interview for the respective position. Recruitments for these 6 months internships are again the best for the same department - computer engineering department, that too with a very healthy stipend!
