Pune have many engineering branches and the institute is having great infrastructure and study environment, if I tell specifically about the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, it is well-equipped and have spacious laboratories and highly qualified faculty. The B.E Electronics and Telecommunication course aims to teach students the fundamental skills required to satisfy the needs of a growing economy incorporated with applied engineering aspects. COEP is among best institutes for engineering in India, it does not have so imprint placements and exposure you will get from COEP are just fairly decent. Here are some statistical insights of the college. 1) Average package:- Rs 4 lakhs 2) Highest package:- Rs 14 lakhs by Vodafone. Although 78% students got placed which is very minuscule, hence electronics and telecommunication engineering are recommended from COE Pune. It ranks 21 in the list of top Engineering Colleges of India. It is well known for its infrastructure and facilities provided by the college in terms of labs with equipment and machines. Faculties in college of engineering Pune is one of the best Faculty in Maharashtra as most of the teachers have completed their PhDs. College of Engineering, Pune is one of the best colleges in Maharashtra after IITs and NITs. According to MHRD rankings, it stands at an impressive 24th position. From what I learned while pursuing B.Tech from NIT, Trichy is that COEP is known even to the people in Tamil Nadu which means it is known all over India. For electronics and telecommunication engineering, last year out of 77 students who applied for placements from ECE department 73 students were placed meaning 94.81 percent placement for ECE which is quite a good number. Many reputed companies visited the campus for recruiting from ECE department. The lowest package offered was around Rs 3 lakhs per annum and the highest package offered was around Rs 33.8 lakhs per annum and the average package was around Rs 6.5 LPA across all branches. College of Engineering Pune is one of the oldest engineering colleges of India. COEP is considered among the top notch institutes other than IITs, but as I said earlier that it's a very old engineering college, so the buildings are old and library looks older as well. Infrastructure is good, but don't expect too much from COEP. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is sandwiched between the core and the software field. So, many students moved to software related jobs and many managed to get the core jobs. Around 40-50 percent students get a core job and placement in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is 90 percent. The average salary offered was around 5 LPA and the highest package offered was 30 LPA. Companies like Seimens, Microsoft, Samsung, and JP Morgan visited the campus for placement. Overall, COEP will be a good choice for Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering if you are not getting any IITs or top NITs. COEP is far better than many new NITs and IIITs. Hope it helped. Hi, I would like to share the placement statistics of last few years. Electronics and Telecommunications (E&TC) department gets relatively good placements. It's one of the few colleges which is having the good faculty staff for E&TC course. In the academic year 2015-16, 94.81% of the total UG students and 86.43% of the total PG students got placed. In the academic year 2013-14, 89.61% of the total UG students and 62.86% of the total PG students got placed. To be very frank, I have read the placement statistics from the COEP official website, the link for which I will share at the end of this answer. I have tried my best while reading and interpreting that graph, but if at all these numbers are incorrect, I apologize. But I hope that it would be correct. Some of the top notch companies coming for placements to COEP are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Honeywell, Emerson, Nokia Networks, Idea cellular. You can go through the placement statistics.
