Engineering physics is a new branch in India, but in foreign countries, it is a sister branch of applied engineering. It is the course which helps you to get in into the research field with Ph.D degree after this course.
Engineering physics or engineering science refers to the study of the combined disciplines of physics, mathematics and engineering, particularly computer, nuclear, electrical, electronic, materials or mechanical engineering.
If you really like physics and have an interest in this course then only you should go for it. Otherwise, I would suggest you not to go for it because of lack of jobs and scope in India.

If you have a strong interest in Physics and ability to understand engineering and science, Engineering Physics is definitely the clever choice. This engineering branch comprises of three fields Physics, Mathematics, and Engineering. One should have better understanding and idea of Physics and Mathematics to begin into this field. Although a demanding career choice, Engineering Physics course is offered by only 5 IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati & IIT Hyderabad) out of the 16 IITs available. According to 2013 data, out of 9, 867 seats in the IITs, only 178 seats were open for Engineering Physics hopefuls. Hence, yo

Hello, let's talk about the engineering physics course structure first. For starters, you will be learning a lot of physics and be exposed to the basic-intermediate level courses of all subtopics in physics like classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, nuclear physics, atomic physics, optics, condensed matter physics, astrophysics etc. Along with it, there will be some courses taught to electrical engineering students like microprocessors, signals, and systems etc. If you have a strong interest in physics and mathematics at your intermediate level then only can go for it. I emphasize on strong interest because you have to deal with hell

Well, engineering's physics does not have any core feeding industry.
Now, the craze for core industry has been fallen down.
Best placement are in the area of Oil & gas, IT, analytics, Banking, consultancies, etc. An engineering Physics graduate has more chance of clearing these as compared to any other branch in any IIT.
For example, a student of IITD had more access to various consultant whether he is from Textile whereas student of IIT Guwahati will not have. Access whether he is from Electrical. If you are already in IIT Delhi then your institution will reflect nit your branch at the time of placement. So, be careful while choosing the
