Hi. IT in VIT is really good, it's almost equal to computer Science. Vellore Institute of Technology has maintained an excellent placement record by providing its students with ample opportunities to blossom their career goals. The university has been ranked at the 28th, 55th, and 15th positions by the NIRF under the Overall, Management, and Engineering categories respectively. The placement season for the 2022 batch started on July 15. The institutes, 81 students from all four campuses of VIT Vellore, Chennai, Amarvati and Bhopal received the pay packages of above INR 25 LPA in its initial phase of placement season and the highest CTC stood at INR 75 LPA. The PG internship placements at VIT started in March 2021, which is going on simultaneously and has seen participation of 118 companies which has already selected 912 students from the 2022 graduation batch. Information technology has the same rate of average packages or average salary with respect to computer science engineering as information technology and computer science engineering have to sit together for the placement. VIT University-Vellore is one of the best private colleges in India and it ranks in top 10 in the list of private colleges of India. It has many courses to offer out of which computer science bioinformatics is one of the course. It is basically computer science engineering. The placements are almost 100%. Here is other data - Mostly the company comes at VIT with handsome package of: 2 to 6 LPA for mechanical. 2 to 10 LPA for electrical and communication. 6 to 20 LPA for IT and CSE. And god bless civil branch (very less compared to others). But competition for getting a job is fierce. There are almost 1000 aspiring students for a company that will take 2 or 3 students. So, everything is a matter of probability here. Even if you come in top 10 students of your batch and a company wants to take 3 students, it all comes to luck. CSE guys need not worry, they will definitely be placed in their core company. EEE, ECE, mechanical, civil: Buckle up and start studying for placements, because you are gonna have a tough time during placements if you don't. Those who didn't get the core company, they will definitely get into one of the IT giants, So if you are only coming for placements, don't worry you will be placed. But make sure, you want to work in an IT company despite being a core branch student.

Placement at VIT is structured in the following manner: First, comes the super dream companies offering placements of above 9 lacs. This is followed by dream companies which offer placements from anywhere between 4 lacs to 8 lacs. Now comes the mass recruiters which offer placements for below 4 lacs which are made by renowned companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, etc. These are some of the companies that offer placements above 7 lacs: PayPal, CISCO, Microsoft., GSD, CommVault, AppDynamics, The Advisory Board Company, McKinsey, Nationstar Mortgage, Barclays Technology Center, BlackRock, Axis Bank, Arista Networks, Yatra.com, HPE (R & D), Amadeus Labs, Oracle, Airwatch(VMware), GE Digital,Walmart Labs, Kirusa, Wissen Technologies. I can expect an average placement of 5 to 6 lacs in VIT for information technology branch. This year more and more startups showed up instead of MNCs which usually give bigger packages in comparison to MNCs. Also, the total batch placement at VIT has never been less than 95%.

Hello, VIT University is one of the top universities in India that offers better education and it snow for its placements. The placements at VIT Vellore has been classified into two as general placements and dream offers in which the students bag huge salary packages. The department of IT and CSE are the top branches that bag these dream offers at VIT University. The highest salary package offered as per last year in IT department was around 21 lakhs per annum by PayPal. The average package may range from 4-6 lakhs per annum. Some of the companies that have visited the campus for placements last year (2016) are: 1) Paypal 2) AppDynamics 3) CommVault 4) Walmart labs 5) CISCO 6) GE digital 7) Microsoft 8) VMware 9) Ebay 10) Arista Networks 11) Yatra.com 12) Oracle 13) Wissen Technologies 14) Barclays Technology Center 15) Shopclues Networks 16) BlackRock Solutions 17) Axis Bank 18) SAP labs 19) Intel 20) Oracle 21) Google 22) Zoho The companies that visit the campus for CSE would also recruit IT grads so that most of the companies would be the same but the packages may vary.
