    Manufacturing science is the course of mechanical engineering. It is not a separate branch but is the field of science concerned with the concept behind the manufacturing process of any industry. Mechanical engineering is concerned with the manufacturing and design, so the difference between these two fields is not sparking but some students want to close this gap by choosing some subject like thermodynamics, fluid mechanic, etc.

    If you are taking up the branch of manufacturing science and engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur just because you are not eligible for getting any other branches in the same college then one thing is sure that you will end up with a minimum placement of around 7 to 9 lacs, in some of the corporate companies, IT firms that show up for the placement drive in the college.
    Although if manufacturing science engineering really excites you and you are passionate about the branch then you might consider pursuing the same at the college.

    The internship and placement trends at IIT, Kharagpur have shown that the adaptability in curriculum makes the students fit into any sector such as core engineering, IT, Finance, Analytics, Consulting et al. It does not matter which discipline you study, you may make a successful in-road to placement.
