Materials science is a fascinating field which has no end because of the variety of problems that keep on coming, but there are various challenges that you might face. Materials science requires a good understanding of the concepts of all fields of science. This causes it to face a tough challenge from people of core physics, chemistry or engineering background. It is difficult to master everything as you can understand.
