    Vellore Institute of Technology abbreviated as VIT, Vellore has a great placement record. These companies recruit students of mechanical engineering in large numbers: Accenture (1422), Wipro (1900+) and Cognizant (1300+) students. You need not worry about getting a job here since there are mass recruiters where core companies don't show up. The faculty members here are quite knowledgeable and supportive. The average starting salary in these companies ranges from 3.5 to 5 LPA. There are, however, usually very few core companies for mechanical engineering students.     VIT, Vellore has a great placement record as per the placement data status available. You need not to worry about securing the job if you are studying in the institution as you will get ample opportunities in the field of your study.
    Talking about mechanical engineering from Vellore, it is good in terms of all infrastructure, research, lab projects, placements, etc. you will be placed in top companies including Mahindra, Maruti, Tata, TCS, WIPRO, PSU, etc. with average package of about 4 lakhs and the highest being about 8 lakhs for mechanical students.
