Mechanical engineering is best Branch of Engineering and offers many government jobs .
The placement at Harcourt Butler Technical University of Mechanical Engineering is good. The placement ratio is almost around 75 to 80% placement.
The average package offered is around 3 to 5 LPA.
Since mechanical engineering is amongst evergreen fields, the placements in this branch will increase with good amount of packages. HBTU is one of the best colleges in Uttar Pradesh which provides normal but not so good placement to their students. Students placement meetup stated last month that the 3rd year students and eligible students with more than 7.0 CGPA are allowed to face the placement exam.
Mechanical engineering 2015-16 placement record is:
    Maximum Package offered: 5.45 LPA
    Minimum Package offered: 3.27 LPA
    Average package offered: 3.76 LPA
Total companies/core companies came for the placement: 45
Overall 80% of students got placed (mechanical engineering) but this college has 100% placement for CSE branch. As per me, this college is best for CSE branch.

Harcourt Butler is the second best engineering college in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, next only to IIT Kanpur. Hence, the placements at the college are pretty respectable for all the streams. Now, when one does a relative comparison the average CTC for mechanical is lower than other branches like CSE, ECE and it. The average CTC this year for mechanical was about 5lpa.
HBTI attracts several major recruiters for the mechanical branch like Bajaj auto, Dabur, DCM Shriram to name a few.
Over the past few years, the placements have declined due to automation in several sectors and due to this there are a percentage of students wh
