Mechanical Engineering is one of the core branches, also one of the evergreen disciplines. There are ample job opportunities in the field if you are passionate and hardworking enough. Nowadays the scope of mechanical engineering is expanding beyond its traditional boundaries and is more of inter-disciplinary in nature. The pay profile in core mechanical jobs is lower than CSE and some others but this is no comparison. Branch should be taken on basis of interest. Money should not be the motivation.
And with all this, IIT-Delhi is one of the best institutes of our country. The placements in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi are better t

Hello, the average package is between Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs (optimistically) in any branch at IIT, Delhi. Average package of a B.Tech student fetching mechanical core job is around Rs 8 lakhs per annum. Please note that there are only few core companies which allow all B.Tech + M.Tech dual degree students together. In such cases, normally salary is more for M.Tech dual than B.Tech. The packages for B.Tech are generally found on the higher side, which can be approximately Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs per annum. Maximum salary, i.e. 70 lakhs per annum is limited to very few companies like Schlumberger. But please note there are only a

For the General AI quota, the IIT Madras CSE cutoff 2025 stood at 171 in the first round. Till the last round, the cutoff remained the same, indicating all seats got filled after the first round of the JEE Advanced cutoff. For IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, the CSE cutoff ranks were closed at 126 and 66, respectively, for the same category. So, considering the cutoff ranks, the IIT Madras cutoff for CSE was comparatively less competitive for admission among the Engineering aspirants as compared to that of IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay.
