How are the placements of B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Surathkal?

National Institute of Technology-Suratkal is one of the best government colleges of India. It ranks 13 in the list of top engineering colleges in India. It also provides a much-needed skill that is hands-on experience and practical working knowledge of machines like cars, etc and they make them participate in the various competition related to mechanical engineering. It is known for its great infrastructure faculties with the knowledge and much-needed experience and better facilities like Wi-Fi, sports complex and labs with better equipment and machines. NIT-Surathkal has many courses to offer out of which mechanical engineering is one of the courses in which it offers 92 seats to the students. Placement of students from mechanical engineering branch in NIT, Surathkal is good. Mechanical engineering is among the best engineering courses in terms of training, education, placements, research and further studies. The placements at National Institute of Technology, Surathkal for Mechanical is really very good. The placement ratio is almost 90%. Many multinational IT companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc., visit the campus every year and take students from here. The average package is around 8 to 10 LPA. Hello, Mechanical engineering is one of the core branches of engineering which form the base for the other branches like automobile, aerospace, production technology, etc. It is considered as an evergreen branch due to its applications in everyday life. The mechanical engineering graduates need to do some specializations based on the current trends so that they can compete with others and also survive in a good salaried job. NITK, Surathkal is one of the top NITs that has a brand name and high reputation. It offers better core placements and has a great infrastructure. The placements are really good in terms of core as well as IT. Among the 113 eligible students, 107 have got placed in the year 2016-17. In all, 86 core companies have visited while nearly 160 IT companies have come for the placements. The average package was around 7-8 LPA while the highest package was 25 LPA in 2016-1. NITs are the premier institutes for engineering after the IITs. NIT-Surathkal is one of the top NITs and is known across the India. According to the National Institute Ranking Framework, NIT-Surathkal ranks 22nd among the engineering colleges in India. For Mechanical Engineering, last time (2016-17) out of 113 students who applied for placements in the Mechanical department 107 students were placed which means 94.69 percent placement for Mechanical Engineering. It is quite an impressive number. For Mechanical, the minimum salary offered was 3.3 LPA. The average salary was 6.71 LPA and the maximum salary was 22 LPA. For the year 2016-17, 107 out of 113 students were placed in mechanical. Highest package was 22 lpa. Companies that visit include PepsiCo, Bosch, ExxonMobil, L&T, etc.
