    NIT-Trichy is surely known for its placements and is ranked first among all NITs for a reason. In 2016, the percentage of total students placed was 96.7%. For mechanical department, it was 94.8% for in 2015 and 98.5% in 2016. Talking about the companies that come for recruiting there are reputed names like Volvo, TVS, Larsen and Turbo, Hyundai, Bajaj and PSUs like NTPC, SAIL, BHEL, ISRO, Vishakhapatnam Steel, NPCIL. Average salary fro mechanical engineering lies around 6-8 Lacs (approx). But some students also opt for roles in IT/CS and management as such.     In 2015, the percentage of students placed was 95 percent. For the mechanical department, it was 95 percent in 2016 and 90 percent in 2017. The major talked about companies that come for recruiting are names like Volvo, Samsung, Nikia, Lava International, Intel, Intuit, Larsen and Turbo, Tata chemicals, Bajaj, Birla Group, and Raymond and Arvind Group.     Mechanical Engineering is core branch of engineering. When it comes to the talk of Placements it comes second after CSE and IT Branch.
    The placements at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli of Mechanical Engineering is really very good. The placement ratio is almost around 95 % every year.

    Mechanical Engineering Department of NITT has had the reputation of being among the finest in the country and is dedicated towards the advancement of technology and science.
    It was around 17 LPA offered by ITC in our year. There have also been instances where Schlumberger took candidates for 15 lakh per annum.

    One among the first three departments to be established in 1964 in the institute, the Mechanical Engineering Department of NIT Trichy has had the reputation of being among the finest in the country and is dedicated towards the advancement of technology and science. The overall placement for last year was around 97% and for mechanical engineering it is 95%.
