COEP is among the best institutes for engineering in India. Perhaps it is not so impressive in terms of the placements and exposure you will get from COEP is just fairly decent.
Here are some statistical insights of the college.
    Placements Scenarios:-
    Metallurgy Engineering
    Average package:- 3.2 lakhs
    Highest package:- 16lakhs by Shell
    Median package:- 4.5 lakhs
Although only 50% students got placed which is not attractive, hence Metallurgy Engineering is not recommended for COE Pune.
Top Recruiters:- Jaypee Group, Ambuja Cements, Tata construction, Polaris, Essar, DLF, Sterlite copper, Mayfair, Hindalco, Larsen and Toubro, Lodha Group, Bhusha

College of Engineering, Pune is one of the best colleges in Maharashtra after IITs and NITs. According to MHRD rankings, it stands at an impressive 24th position. From what I learned while pursuing B.Tech from NIT Trichy, is that COEP is known even to the people in Tamil Nadu which means it is known all over India.
For Metallurgical Engineering department last time (2016-17) out of 61 students who applied to placements from metallurgy department 31 students were placed meaning 50.8 percent placement for metallurgy which is quite a good number as the placements for metallurgical is generally limited due to the field itself.

The placements of college of engineering Pune are quite good. As of now, the placements of metallurgical engineering is on an average. Out of batch of sixty people, 10-20 students gets placed in two previous years. If you see the graph of placements, the other branches lead much higher than metallurgical engineering.
As it is new and recently established, it is gaining its own power and developing as knowledge gaining branch. The need of education of such trades and developments in the metallurgical sectors is very necessary. The scope for future is very good.
Talking about the placement needs, the percentage of the placements for metall

    Hi,
I would like to share the placement statistics of last few years. One of my friends studying in COEP told me the fact that metallurgy department gets relatively lesser placements as compared to the other departments. But it's one of the few colleges which is having the metallurgy course. In the academic year 2015-16, 50.8% of the total UG students and 38.46% of the total PG students got placed. In the academic year 2013-14, 85.25% of the total UG students and 62.92% of the total PG students got placed. To be very frank, I have read the placement statistics from the COEP official website, the link for which I will share at the end o
