    NIT Trichy is surely known for its placements and is ranked first among all NITs for a reason. In 2016 the percentage of total students placed was 96.7 percent. For Production department it was 96.9 percent for in 2015 and 93.1 percent in 2016. Talking about the companies that come for recruiting there are reputed names like Hero Motocorp, Honda, Hyundai, Ashok Leyland and PSUs like NTPC, SAIL, BHEL, ISRO, Vishakhapatnam Steel, NPCIL. But some students also opt for roles in IT/CS and management as such.     Production Engineering is very good Branch and it is the part of mechanical engineering.
    The placements at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli of Production Engineering is really very good. The placement ratio is almost around 90% placement.
    The average package is around 5 to 7 lakhs per annum.
