CMRIT is a technical and management institution affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University. Due to its location, the placements stats of CSE is pretty much satisfying. Hi, They are decent and best. It has been improving consistently over the years. Usually, the CS and IS guys are the ones preferred by almost all the companies coming on campus. Naturally, the percentage of placement in these 2 branches is very high. Almost all the eligible candidates get placed by final year either on campus or through an off campus event. The ECE guys rank next in placements. They are not eligible to attend some companies on campus. There are hardly any core companies that come for placements. Over the years, very few have got into core companies for example during 2013 only 1 core ECE company - Atkins had come for on campus placements. Post-2013, the scenario has improved greatly and a lot more companies are on campus to conduct placements. It mostly depends on which branch you are part of. The other ways to get placed are via off-campus and via Alumni references. Keep in touch with your Alumni on Facebook and Linkedin and be on the lookout for opportunities. Surely, a college does matter but what matters more are your skills. It has a good record of placements. Usually, it crosses 300+ for a 700 batch of students. During our time (2016) it had reached the peak. 80% of the eligible students(60% aggregate & no backlogs during placements) were placed. The main reason was TCS recruited a record breaking 212 students. 90% of the companies are IT and Tech Support based. Core companies for mechanical, civil and electrical will come hard. Luckily if they come also, they will ask for 70+ aggregate. All the best.
