Majority of Geo-infomatics get placed in IT sector and very few have received core branches and relevant roles, but almost 90% students get placed with average of 4lpa.
Notwithstanding the withdrawal of offers by the e-commerce and software companies, Anna University got off to a bright start to its campus placement drive as three students have received offer letters for Rs 28 lakh per annum, surpassing last year's highest offer. The new recruiter, Arcesium India from Hyderabad, a software development company, recruited three students M. Radhika, P. R. Prasad and M. Nikhil, who are all studying computer Science engineering at the College of Engineering, Guindy for huge package of Rs 28 Lacs per annum. Anna University is among the top universities in South-India, and has a really low acceptance rate, because of which only beautiful minds make it through in the college.
But, the review for geo informatics in Anna University-College of Engineering is really not good in terms of placement and in terms of academics as well.
Only 2 out of 20 students in 2017 batch of geo informatics got placed and that too in IT Company known as ITC, offering them something around 3-4 lacs per annum which makes it a total waste of their degree in geo informatics.
