How are the placements of BE in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering- Anna University (CEG, Guindy)?

The only drawback with this college is that they fail to provide with 100% batch placement. Considering the placement report of 2016 of Anna University in mechanical branch almost 75 students got placed while 10% student went on for the further studies abroad. Some of the companies that make round during placement season are: Caterpillar, Coromandel Fertilisers Limited, IBM, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, VOLTAS, Ashok Leyland, Essar group, General Motors, HPCL, JK Tyre, Larsen & Toubro Ltd. , Morgan Stanley, TATA Technologies, Technologies Robert, Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions Ltd, TVS MOTORS, CEAT, Chrysler, India Automotive Pvt. Ltd.

Anna University is one of the most famous colleges in South India and has a really low acceptance rate which makes the college full of beautiful minds and so is the reason why the placement report of this college has always been excellent. Ltd Some of the placements highlights for mechanical branch were: Caterpillar (11 LPA) Ford (6 LPA) With this, one can I expect an average placement package of 6 to 7 LPA with the highest being nothing less than 30 LPA. Majority of Mechanical get placed in core sector and very few have received IT and relevant roles, but almost 90% students get placed with average of 4lpa. Notwithstanding the withdrawal of offers by the e-commerce and software companies, Anna University got off to a bright start to its campus placement drive as three students have received offer letters for Rs 28 lakh per annum, surpassing last year's highest offer. The campus placement began last week in the university. IT majors like Microsoft, Adobe and Samsung R&D have recruited university students for pay packages of around Rs 20 lakh per annum. The public sector undertakings like Power Grid Corporation of India and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) usually will come for recruitment in the months of March and April. Schlumberger, Aditya Birla, Reliance, Tata, L&T, Sterlite copper, Godrej are some core companies for Mechanical branch with excellent Opportunities consistently over years, overall recommended for Mechanical specialization.
