How are the placements of BE in Mechanical Engineering from The National Institute of Engineering?

NIE perhaps has been oldest Institution by 1946 in heart of Mysore and has established great Recruitment connect with various Industry heads. However, placements have not been audited and numbers are not satisfactory enough to prove its mettle. Intake:- 180 (mechanical branch) Median Package:- 5lpa Average package:- 4 lakhs Highest package:- 10 lakhs per annum No of students appeared:- 148 No of placed:- 67 No of offers made:- 102 Recruiters:- L&amp;T, Mercedes Benz, Maruti Suzuki, TCS, Bosch, Fiat, Daimler Chryseler, Volvo, Siemens, Subex, Tally Solution, Tata Steel, Mahindra, Tech Mahindra, ACC, Uktratech Cement, Hero, Honda and many more. Though, companies have visited overall average package has been constant and very few offered have been doled out which needs improvement. Hi there, The National Institute of Engineering, popularly known as NIE, established in 1946, is the second oldest engineering college in Karnataka. It is in Mysore, India. NIE is an autonomous institution affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. The placements of mechanical engineering are pretty much satisfying a lot of core companies come here for placements. Here are some of the insights of this college. Hello Students, National Institute of Engineering is perhaps one of the oldest Institute in India, having established in 1946 in Mysore. This Institute has kept Pace with modern times. Good campus, latest facilities, good faculty etc. It's alumni is spread wide and far. But then as happens in any place, importance is given to IT related courses since these are in high demand. This in turn attracts better students and with the principal of bootstrapping it becomes better and better. As a matter of fact one of it's student got highest packages across all colleges in Karnataka. The concerned webpage is well designed but it hides more than it reveals! Students from branches other than IT have tough times in placements and that is reflected here too. Though big companies like L & T and Mercedes Benz came for recruiting along with other lesser known companies, the proportion of class that the Institute was able to place is not available but we can analyse and come to conclusion that placements could be in region of 70% to 80% of the class which tallies with the figures of premier engineering colleges.
