    NIE perhaps has been oldest Institution by 1946 in heart of Mysore and has established great Recruitment connect with various Industry heads.
    However, placements have not been audited and numbers are not satisfactory enough to prove its mettle.
    Intake:- 180 (mechanical branch)
    Median Package:- 5lpa
    Average package:- 4 lakhs
    Highest package:- 10 lakhs per annum
    No of students appeared:- 148
    No of placed:- 67
    No of offers made:- 102

    The National Institute of Engineering, popularly known as NIE, established in 1946, is the second oldest engineering college in Karnataka. It is in Mysore, India. NIE is an autonomous institution affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University.
    The placements of mechanical engineering are pretty much satisfying a lot of core companies come here for placements.

    Hello Students,
    National Institute of Engineering is perhaps one of the oldest Institute in India, having established in 1946 in Mysore.
    This Institute has kept Pace with modern times. Good campus, latest facilities, good faculty etc. It's alumni is spread wide and far. But then as happens in any place, importance is given to IT related courses since these are in high demand. This in turn attracts better students and with the principal of bootstrapping it becomes better and better. As a matter of fact one of it's student got highest packages across all colleges in Karnataka.
