After 12th you can join the Foundation course. CS salary depends upon the company, competence. CS has good scope.

Executive Program
Foundation Program
Professional Program
The minimum educational qualification to apply for a company secretary course is 10+2. The minimum age must be 17 years. Apart from this, applicants will also need to have good language skills as well as the ability to examine complex as well as technological issues, understand problems and make judgment with tact.

Private Sector-
For a beginner the starting salary will be from Rs.15, 000 to Rs.18, 000 and for 2 to 3 years experienced professional it will range from Rs.18, 000 to Rs.30, 000 per month. A company secretary professional with 5 and more years experience can earn up to Rs.50, 000 per month.
The company secretary professionals have wide career opportunities in abroad also where for a starter in this field the pay scale will ranges from £28,000 to £32,000.

I agree with Anand. There is a good scope for CS and you can command salary in the range of Rs 4-6 lakhs p.a. if you pass your exams with merit ranking.
