How can a student find his area of interest before choosing a career after completing class 12 (non-medical)?

I always recommend three things to students: 1. Read more about things you might like to do in your life. 2. Meet more people who are working and talk with them about their jobs. Ask them questions. 3. Do an internship before going to college and do multiple internships in college.
