How can an engineering student apply for internships at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)?

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited does not have a consistent policy towards internships and this can vary from division to division which is spread throughout the country. Being a Defense PSU, HAL would then have to do a thorough background verification for each and every applicant who applies for an internship. As you know these formalities could take months as we live in a big country. Since HAL deals with a lot of sensitive information and is the closest manufacturing/research unit associated with the IAF, Navy and the Army security is paramount. It is for this reason that to get an internship you must be referred by someone who is already working at HAL. This referral obviously must be done by someone who is in the management cadre and not by a technician/workman.
