1. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed 12th grade (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects.
Minimum Marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (for general category) and relaxation for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC).
Age Limit: Candidates should be at least 17 years old at the time of admission.
2. Qualifying NEET-UG
NEET-UG is the entrance exam for admission to MBBS programs across India, including Osmania Medical College. Candidates must appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
NEET Score: Admission is based on the NEET rank/score. Higher the score, the better the chances for admission into a government medical college like Osmania.
3. Online Registration for NEET
Candidates need to register and apply for the NEET exam through the official NTA website. After taking the exam, they will receive a rank based on their performance.
4. State Counseling for Admission
After the NEET results are declared, candidates need to participate in the state counseling process, which is conducted by the Telangana State Medical and Health Department (or the relevant body designated by the state government).
Candidates can register for counseling and choose their preferred medical college (including Osmania Medical College) during the allotment process.
5. Document Verification
During counseling, candidates must undergo document verification, where they need to submit their academic certificates, NEET scorecard, and other necessary documents.
6. Seat Allotment
Based on the NEET score, category, and availability of seats, candidates will be allotted a seat at Osmania Medical College through the counseling process.
There are seats reserved for various categories, including SC, ST, OBC, and EWS under government reservation policies.
7. Admission
After the seat allotment, candidates must report to Osmania Medical College for final admission. This involves completing formalities such as paying the fees, submitting documents, and attending an orientation session.
8. Start of Classes
Once admitted, candidates can begin their MBBS studies at Osmania Medical College.
