You can choose any subject of your choice as it is stipulated at the NTA UGC bulletin that a candidate having a Masters or equivalent degree with 55% marks can appear for UGC NET Examination in any Stream. You can appear in the Subject Code - 01 which covers Economics / Rural Economics /Co-operation / Demography / Development Planning/ Development Studies / Econometrics/ Applied Economics/Development Economics.
