I am glad to see you are looking to build a career as a business analyst. A business analyst is the one person who is involved in almost all business intelligence processes like Data mining, analysis, making forecasts, report preparation, and more. The role of a business analyst is employer-specific, while some might require only IT knowledge, others might require finance or accounting background and a few might want specific marketing skills. You can become business analyst by following career paths:
(a) Join any IT or ITES company after MBA and learn BA skills on the job.
(b) Join any company after graduation degree and learn domain & gain experience in one of the field such as Banking & Insurance, Healthcare, Travel & Transportation, education etc to become domain BA.
(c) Do multiple technical project in one particular domain and then switch from Technical roles to Business Analyst roles.
(d) Do ERP functional certification such as SAP SD, MM, HR, FICO etc.
In addition to above you may have to gain industry recognised BA certification of IIBA of BCS.
