    CPL eligibility is as follows: (a) Class XII under the 10+2 system or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in Mathematics and Physics. (b) Minimum 16 years of age to be eligible for a Private Pilot License and 17 for a Commercial Pilot License. (c) Vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6. (d) General physical fitness as approved by DGCA is mandatory. All the best.

    1) To become a commercial pilot:
    * You need to first possess a Student Pilot License. You must be over 17 years of age and have completed 12th in Science (Physics and Mathematics) with 50%.
    * Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
    General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.
    * You need to register at a flying club which is recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.

    There are three types of Pilots license Student Pilot License (SPL), Private Pilot License (PPL) and Commercial Pilot License (CPL). CPL eligibility is as follows:

    Commercial Pilot is getting one of the highest salaries in India, Fresh pilot salary is around Rs 1.5 Lakh per month for domestic airlines. Salary moves up rapidly with a year of experience and on the international route. An experienced pilot on the international route can get 5-6 lakh Rupees per month as salary. To become a pilot, aspirants need to join Air flying schools after completion of 10+2, they should pass the 10+2 exam with physic, chemistry, math. Minimum marks should be 50%.

    To become a Commercial Pilot, you need to clear the Aviation specific exams conducted by the DGCA, the Radio Telephony exam conducted by the Ministry of Communications & be classified as FIT in the Class-I Medical Exam, which will be conducted at specified institutes in the country. You will also need to fly & log the minimum number of flying hours on the type that you're going to look for employment in the future. With all this under your belt, and the particular aircraft type endorsed on your flying license, start applying for a job in different companies. For details, you may visit the DGCA website.

    There are currently two main ways to become a Commercial Pilot in India, one is by joining one of the several flying schools already available in India or abroad, and the other is via the Cadet Pilot programme with an Airline.
    For prerequisites, a candidate needs to clear 10+2 with Maths and Physics with a Recognized board. He would also need to clear DGCA based Class two and Class one medical tests. Once that is done, he can either join any flying school or give an entrance test for a Cadet Pilot Program.
