Hi Nishant, Data Science is the extraction of knowledge from large volumes of data that aren't structured, which is a continuation of the field data mining and predictive analytics, also known as knowledge discovery and data mining (KDD). &quot;Unstructured data&quot; can include emails, videos, photos, social media, and other user-generated content. Data Scientists are qualified people with strength and patience to tunnel through mountains of information, the technical skills in writing algorithms to extract insights from these troves of information, and the talent and vision to discern patterns while others see none. Broadly speaking, to begin a career as a data scientist, you need an advanced degree in a scientific discipline like Statistics, Mathematics or one of the Sciences and a strong technical background. You also need to develop a deep expertise in diverse analytical tools like SAS, Hadoop and R.
