How can I become a radio jockey (RJ)? What starting salary can I expect?

To become an RJ, you should have confidence, communication skill, attitude, knowledge and command on the current affairs. Be natural as much as you can. If you talk about salary then - it totally depends on your skills, and how wonderful RJ you are. If you are a fresher then you may get 10K to 15K per month, and gradually it increases. Once you are grown up in this field, money will be in your lap and the amount will be like as much as you will ask for. There are many RJs who get their salaries in Lacs per month. Yes, provide the quality, variety and in return, you will get a lot of money.

INR 30,000 is the initial number, but as one gains experience and popularity, salary of a radio jockey can go up to Rs. 1.5 to Rs. 2 Lacs per month. Moreover, popular RJs get additional earning opportunities by hosting private shows, voice over for television and radio advertisements among others.

For becoming a radio jockey, you should have to built-up confidence, communication skill, speech skill, your talking attitude. You must join any reputed coaching institute and get internship in various companies as 95fm, 92.7fm. While, in 1 year -2 year, you should work at very low salary after a well experience & professional skills, you will get around INR. 2k - INR. 4k each show.

Hello, The most essential things that are required for becoming a Radio Jockey is your passion and interest towards the stream and then comes your communication skills, how good you are with your words and how well you can gain the confidence of your audience because it becomes really important for a radio jockey to never let his/her audience get bored of his/her words. If you lose them then there are chances that you might have to lose your job as well. These things can only be achieved by taking admission in good mass communication colleges/institutes which will help you out in sharpening your skills and knowledge and if they have their own radio channel then you can always practice and gain your command over your skills. One must always undergo some previous coaching or training before applying anywhere because if you have some early knowledge about the work you are going to do then it would be very easy for you to do your work easily without many mistakes. It's always good to know your weakness and work upon them. The salary range would start from Rs. 25000 if you are a beginner with only Bachelor's degree and can go up according to your skills and knowledge.

The beginners in the initial stage can earn between Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month.

Radio Jockey is a fascinating career where we see someone doing to magic with the voice and words. It is not just the words or the voice, rather it is the way the words are articulated and presented. A radio jockey is to create a live jockeying to entertain the listeners. The challenge lies in the wide variety of listeners and an unending list of interests that people carry in this age. None can be a radio jockey by the virtue of being excellent at 'Improvising'. The fluency and selection of words with utmost courtesy is also the hallmark of good books. A Radio Jockey writes creative pieces and present in the best and interesting way. The course can be done from IGNOU, Amity University, IIMC NCR. We are yet again reminded of the fact that the salary question remains unanswered because we need to know the real work first. Salary expectation is 10k to 25k for the beginners.
