How can I become a Ramp Planner? What kind of starting salary can I expect?

Hello, Ramp planner is another important cog in the wheel of successfully flight operations. The meaning of word ramp is pathway with slope. Almost everything that is being loaded or offloaded from an aircraft is done using ramps. Be it loading of cargo, baggage, passengers, food trays etc. In addition to this, it is important to know that some activities are required to be done before the arrival of aircraft, some while aircraft is on ground and some when aircraft has left it's bay. Ramp planner plays crucial role of planning & execution, so that aircraft is prepared for next flight in least time. This is called as turnaround time. Least turnaround time means more profit for airlines and it's the ramp planner who can enable this. There are agencies who train prospective employers in all the aspects required e.g. airside safety, tarmac SOP, protocols etc. It's about 4 month course and license is issued to operate as ramp planner. The salary is quite and can be around Rs. 50,000.
